1. The registrant and their information
The registrant is the person or organisation recorded as holding the domain under the applicable registry and registrar rules. Ensure the correct party is named, keep contact information current and complete required verification.
Ask your provider how to access or update records, authorise changes and obtain applicable transfer information.
2. Clear information before ordering
Review the service terms, price, renewal arrangements, restrictions and any restoration fees before ordering. Ask for clarification when a requirement or charge is unclear.
3. Renewals and transfers
Monitor expiry dates, keep your contact email working and plan renewals in advance. Transfer rights and restrictions depend on the extension, sponsoring registrar and applicable rules. Not every extension has the same renewal, grace or restoration process.
4. Registry rules and applicable policies
Country-code domains such as .ng and .ke follow their relevant registry rules. For generic domains, relevant ICANN policies and the sponsoring registrar’s obligations may apply. A general guide does not extend a rule to a namespace where it does not apply.
Consult ICANN’s registrant benefits and responsibilities information ↗ and your extension’s official registry information where relevant.
5. Resolving problems
Keep invoices, order confirmations and correspondence. Contact our team with a clear description of the issue and relevant references. Depending on the issue, escalation may involve the sponsoring registrar, registry, a relevant dispute procedure or a competent authority.
Nothing in our policies removes a mandatory legal right.
